Rurubu National Park lies in north-eastern Burundi, along the Rurubu River. It is a quiet, rarely visited park, valued mainly by birdwatchers, with more than 200 recorded bird species.
What you can do here
Birdwatching and gentle nature walks are the main activities. Visits are best arranged with a guide, and we confirm access and conditions when planning.
When to go
The drier windows, June to August and December to January, are generally the most comfortable.
Adding it to your safari
Rurubu suits dedicated birders as an addition to a Rwanda or Uganda birding itinerary. Tell us what you want to see and we will shape the route.
